Serious Drinking is a joint venture between the Men’s Health Forum and Drinkaware that aims to provide men with the facts about alcohol in a readable and non-nagging way. I wrote, edited and designed.
No, not an unspotted typo. The Dutch Pharmacy Project for the European Men’s Health Forum was designed to get men in the Netherlands to use pharmacies for health advice, particularly about weight. I wrote the copy and designed the leaflet and accompanying website in Adobe Muse.
Three booklets which I edited and in two cases wrote were ‘Commended’ or ‘Highly Commended’ in the British Medical Association’s Patient Information Awards 2016.
Three-quarters of people who take their own lives are men so male suicide prevention is a major challenge for those interested in improving mental wellbeing.
For World Suicide Prevention Day, I created a z-card and associated social media shares for the National Suicide Prevention Alliance. I wrote and designed the asset and the great John Byrne provided the cartoons.
The Samaritans had seen the Beat Stress, Feel Better booklet I did with John and wanted something that would resonate with men when they first started feeling down, that would be interesting to read and would provide some practical help at this early stage.
Serviced by the Samaritans, the NSPA bring together over 60 organisations. That’s a lot of stakeholders so it was quite a project to manage.
