Three of Disability Rights UK’s Doing Life series are now available as a job lot at less than a tenner.
The Doing Life Differently series of self-help publications on which I was the writer were designed by and for people affected by ill-health, injury or disability. They work because they were collaborative projects with hand-picked steering committees and lots of interviews rather than just a run through of the legislation.
DRUK’s CEO Liz Sayce says: ‘Our Doing Life Differently series of publications gives people the tools they need to live an independent life. There is no advice more useful than the tips that come from others who have trod the same road before. Whether it’s getting or keeping a job, managing your money or getting online, doing life differently because of ill-health, injury or disability needn’t mean doing it less well.’
There were six in the series in total: Work, Money, IT, Careers, Transport and Sport. The three batched together are the most recent titles: Doing Careers Differently, Doing Transport Differently and Doing Sport Differently. Some are also available as free PDF downloads from the DRUK site.
