The growing diabetes crisis is quite literally decimating men with one in ten now affected.
Men’s Health Week 2017 was titled Hazardous Waist.
Men’s Health Week 2016 looked at the question: how do you beat stress? I wrote the copy, designed the materials and edited the video to the tightest of tight deadlines. Includes the Survival Guide to Euro 2016.

Your Body, Your Health is one of the best projects I’ve ever been involved in. I edited and designed the booklet which was written by two trans guys Lee Gale and Lewis Turner.
The suicide rate is now at its highest since 2001 and three-quarters of those deaths are male. Many of the men are unknown to local mental health professionals; women are far more likely to be treated for a mental health problem.
The Men’s Health Forum has teamed up with the GMFA, the gay men’s health charity to produce Man To Man, an easy-to-read introduction to health for men who sleep with men.
Based on the Man Manual, I wrote it with excellent gay health writer Kristian Johns and edited and designed it.
On the eve of a very big day for John Ryan – his first ever NHS Health Check, I discussed the Men’s Health Forum’s new Man Manual with him. (Funnier than it sounds.) Not a technical tour de force – it was recorded on a phone in a cafe!

The Man Manual, the latest publication from the Men’s Health Forum, strives to pull together everything the average bloke needs to know about his health in a simple, easy to read 36 page package.
I’ve been way too closely involved to be objective but I’d love to know if you think we’ve succeeded in this, the third edition of a landmark publication.

The answer is long-term conditions (LTCs). The number of people with multiple LTCs is expected to increase by a million in the next three years. Already over half of men have at least one LTC.
Heard of a JSNA? Course you haven’t. Trouble is it seems a lot of councils are unaware of their purpose too.
